Standard industrial hooters — regardless of their IP rating or build quality — are not permitted inside hazardous areas. Any electrical equipment in Zone 1 or Zone 2 must be certified flameproof (Ex d) by an Indian statutory body. Our flameproof hooter carries both PESO and CIMFR certification.

Do you supply the certificate copies?

Yes — PESO certificate copy and CIMFR test report copy are supplied with every unit. These are required for your factory inspection records and statutory audit documentation.

What is the difference between PESO and CIMFR certification?

PESO (Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation) is the statutory licensing body — PESO approval is required for the product to be legally sold and used in India. CIMFR (Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research) is the testing laboratory — they conduct the actual explosion protection tests. Both certificates are required for full compliance.

We need 24V DC for battery backup — is that available?

Yes. Available in 24V DC, 230V AC, and 415V AC variants. The 24V DC version is used where the emergency power supply is battery-backed — ensuring the hooter sounds even during mains failure. Common in petroleum pump rooms with UPS backup.

Is the enclosure suitable for outdoor coastal locations?

Yes. Copper-free cast aluminium with IP66 protection — dust tight and jet-proof. For coastal or highly corrosive environments, we recommend additional external coating — available on request.

Can I wire this to my fire panel relay output?

Yes. The hooter accepts a potential-free contact input — connect your fire panel's alarm relay output directly. No additional relay or interface module needed for most fire panels.
